OUR STORY

Our owner and head chef, Lanka, began her culinary journey at just 9 years old, learning cooking techniques and flavours from her mother while helping in the kitchen. From a very young age, as the eldest child, she embraced the responsibility of preparing meals for her family. Inspired by her mother’s dedication to the art of cooking and the incredible flavours of her meals, Lanka quickly discovered her own passion for creating food that nourished both the spirit and the senses.

In Sinhalese, “Loku” means "elder”, a name lovingly given to Lanka by her family, reflecting her role as the eldest child. “Loku” was the nickname her family called her, and it became a symbol of her responsibility and love for cooking. As "Loku”, she embraced the task of preparing meals that brought her family together, always with care and warmth. Lanka’s cooking, often praised with the words “Loku’s food is delicious”, became more than just meals. It became a heartfelt expression of love and a cherished legacy that continues to inspire every dish we serve today.
